Coronavirus United Kingdom: 888 new deaths total increases to 15,464

British medical authorities on Saturday reported 888 new deaths from the new coronavirus, Covid-19, in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 15,464.

This was revealed in the statement released by the Department of Health, announcing that the number of people infected now stands at 114,217 after having identified 5,526 new infections.

The coronavirus, officially known as Covid-19, has spread to 202 countries and infected more than 2,263,000 people worldwide, of whom more than 154,000 have died while more than 581,000 have died recovered from contamination.

The spread of coronavirus led to the suspension of religious activities, the temporary cessation of classes in several countries, as well as the postponement or cancellation of several sporting, political and economic events around the world and the closing of borders in order to contain the disease.
